Fit your baby

When choosing a stroller for your baby, there are certain things you need to look for to make sure that you are buying a stroller that will keep the baby safe and secure. The features you should look for include:

  • Seatbelts. On strollers these are called harness systems and they are usually three or five point systems. A simple waist belt is not enough security in a stroller. You need one that has a strap that comes up between the legs so that when the child is older he will not be able to wiggle out from under the belt and fall out of the stroller.
  • Good brakes. The brakes should be easy to lock and unlock.
  • Compartments. The stroller should have a compartment underneath for you to store the baby supplies that you need to bring with you, such as a diaper bag, and for you to store small packages when you run errands.

Many of the newer models of strollers have food trays for the baby so that you can feed the baby or let him/her have a snack. There are strollers that are suited for cold climates and have wheels that will operate on snow and ice. If you like to jog, there is a stroller designed just for you so that you don"t have to leave the baby with a sitter while you get your exercise.
