How To Evaluate The Best Carseat For Your NeedsMuch carseat selection is contingent on your personal needs and preferences. Some parents prefer the convenience of a baby carrier, and are happy to move to a front facing car seat once their baby outgrows the carrier. Other parents prefer the convenience of an all in one convertible carseat, which prevents them from having to buy more than one carseat to a child's lifetime. Still others are on the scout for seats with a particular design, feature or one within a certain price range. You know best what you'll need in a carseat. I recommend an infant carrier while your baby is young. I used an infant carrier till my wee one grew out of it at 8 months, then opted for a convertible car seat. I find the convertible car seat a blessing. We used it for another 4 months rear facing, then flipped it easily into a forward facing position. Even better, it even converts to a booster seat and will hold our little darling till she is old enough to use a grown up car seat. We are using an infant carrier for our second, and plan to get another convertible seat for number two when she outgrows the infant carrier as well. In this family, it is all about convenience. That said, keep in mind everyone is different. Not all people like convertible seats, and they can require a little crafty planning to get in the car correctly. Once you get them in however, you don't have to worry about moving them!
