In the category of "what-will-they-think-of-next" we find double umbrella strollers, as well as their close cousins, double jogging strollers. Both are great for going out and about with two kids, whether they're a matched set of twins or ordinary siblings.
With umbrella strollers, you don’t have to worry about the kiddies getting too much sun while they take in air. The umbrella provides not just shade, but protection from the weather, too, for those times when you just can’t get back to the house in time.
Of course, if you’re using a handy jogging stroller, getting home in time might not be a problem!
Double up for convenience
Umbrella strollers for two look basically like a tandem version of the typical strollers, but a double stroller for jogging is a sleek contraption that looks more like a streamlined tricycle.
The wheels are larger than on most strollers, and they come in both side-by-side and over-and-under styles. Double strollers, either of the jogging or umbrella variety, are handy if you have a couple of little ones, because you can take both of them with you wherever you go, be it the grocery story or to the park for a jog.
Double the stroller, double the price?
Not necessarily, though these will set you back more than singleton strollers. Umbrella models are cheaper than the jog models, unsurprisingly. Naturally, you can go all out and get the deluxe model from a maker like Kolcraft for $300, or you can get a perfectly handy version from Graco for less than third of that. A jogging stroller might cost as much as $500, though less expensive models go for about $200 or less. Fortunately most fold up nicely, so storage is a snap.
